FBI Investigates Ten Scientist Deaths and Disappearances as House Oversight Joins

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading a review of at least ten scientists tied to sensitive nuclear or aerospace research who have died or disappeared in recent years, CNN reported Tuesday in video that consolidated reporting first surfaced April 21. [1] The Republican-led House Oversight Committee announced its own investigation the same day. The White House confirmed coordinated work across agencies through Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

The named cases include retired Air Force Maj. Gen. William Neil McCasland, missing from Albuquerque since February 27. [2] The pattern that pulled federal attention is partly the cluster's size and partly the access profile of the people in it: classified, dual-use, and concentrated in laboratories and contractor sites that handle the research the country protects most carefully.

FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News the bureau would "look for connections — to classified access, to foreign actors, to anything that ties these cases together." [3] Rep. Eric Burlison, who has worked the UFO whistleblower brief, attached his interest publicly. The Department of Energy, the Department of War, and NASA are named cooperating agencies.

X has tracked the cluster for weeks. The federal acknowledgment is the new fact.
