The IRGC Told Iran International Crushing Blows Are Coming

While the U.S. president was telling reporters at Joint Base Andrews he was "in no hurry," the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was telling the Anglosphere something else. Iran International's English-language account carried the IRGC line that "crushing blows are coming in places you cannot even imagine." [1] The phrasing — a public threat against unnamed targets — is the operating posture behind the diplomatic channel the paper has been tracking through the Pakistan back-channel and the Trump deadline arithmetic.

The same Wednesday, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of Iran's parliament, told the floor that there were "obvious and hidden moves by the enemy" and that Iran must remain ready. [2] The Independent's live blog logged the line; the IRGC quote travelled mostly through Iran International's translation feed.

Two things are worth keeping straight. Ghalibaf is speaker, not a uniformed commander; his words are political cover for the IRGC's threat, not a Supreme National Security Council communiqué. And the Revolutionary Guards' "crushing blows" line is verbal artillery, not a target list — exactly the register Tehran uses when it wants the threat in the record without the geography.

The paper's position has been that Trump's "two or three days" deadline replaced the postponed strike, not the postponed-strike posture. Wednesday's quote stack is the Iranian half of the same arithmetic.
