Cygames Gives Existing Granblue Owners a Separate Upgrade Kit

IGN's Switch 2 calendar places Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok on Nintendo's newer hardware on Thursday, July 9, and an IGN video roundup includes it among July's largest releases; because the underlying game first appeared in 2024, the listing gives an existing work a second platform debut. [1] [2]

Cygames' official product table answers the central entitlement question that IGN leaves open. It offers the full physical or digital version to newcomers and a separate digital Endless Ragnarok Upgrade Kit to players who own Granblue Fantasy: Relink. The table says the kit requires the base game. [3]

That is not the same as cross-buy. The cited product table establishes an upgrade path for an owner on a supported platform; it does not say that a PlayStation or Steam license transfers to Switch 2, that saves move between platforms, or that one platform purchase supplies another platform's copy. The official receipt narrows the question from whether an upgrade exists to which owners can use it and what crosses with them.

Searches aimed at Granblue players found no verified X post about handheld value, the upgrade kit or repeat purchases, while none of the cited pages supplies a performance review from which to infer a launch verdict.

Ownership is therefore partly answered rather than absent. Cygames has published separate full-version and upgrade-kit routes; regional price, cross-platform entitlement and save transfer remain outside the cited record. IGN still supplies the dated Switch 2 listing, but the official table prevents a calendar gap from becoming a claim that existing owners must pay full admission again.
