Aston Martin's Vibration Problem Raises a Driver-Safety Alarm

Aston Martin began the Formula One season with Honda-engine vibrations that designer Adrian Newey said risked permanent nerve damage to drivers, according to the Guardian's midseason assessment. [1]

The same report calls the vibration problem largely solved, while describing an underpowered engine, 10 retirements, one point, and a later B-spec car that appeared to recover about two seconds of pace. [1]

None of that establishes that a driver suffered nerve damage, and a pace estimate cannot show what vibration levels, frequencies, exposure thresholds, symptoms, or medical monitoring existed before or after the change.
