IDF Evacuation Orders Still Hang Over South Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces issued an evacuation order Wednesday ahead of airstrikes in Mansouri, in Tyre District, after announcing that Hezbollah had violated the ceasefire. [1] Thursday does not lift those leaflets. The IDF had not issued south Lebanon evacuation orders before strikes since July 11. [1] It still has not published details of the alleged violation. [1]

This paper's Wednesday file already treated the order as a targeting schedule wearing a ceasefire label. Hezbollah-aligned Lebanese media reported the same day that an improvised explosive device killed two IDF soldiers in Majdal Zoun, the neighboring town. [1] Hezbollah had not claimed the attack at ISW's writing. [1]

Wires that stop at the ceasefire-breach line will miss the IED. Feeds that stop at the IED will miss that the army named a breach and dropped leaflets on Mansouri. Thursday's completed record is still an order, a neighboring explosion claim, no Hezbollah claim, and the first south Lebanon notices in more than three weeks. [1]

A ceasefire that needs leaflets is a ceasefire that is already a targeting schedule. The paper will not invent two dead soldiers from a single aligned-media report, and it will not invent a communique that has not appeared.
