Ticketmaster canceled a batch of tickets to Olivia Rodrigo's Unraveled Tour last week for violating resale terms, and is reissuing them to fans at their original face value. [1]

The company said on Instagram on August 20 that the tickets had been resold above their posted price on the secondary market, breaking the terms attached to the original sale. Fans could apply for the recovered seats through a request window that closed August 21, capped at four tickets per event across up to two events. Ticketmaster has not disclosed how many tickets were pulled. [1]

The move follows a template Ticketmaster and parent company Live Nation have used before: in 2024 and 2025, the companies canceled more than 50,000 resold and bot-purchased tickets from Oasis's reunion tour under similar terms-of-sale claims. [1] Rodrigo's team used a comparable tactic on her 2023 Guts tour, delaying digital ticket delivery until 72 hours before each show specifically to screen out bulk resellers.

The clawback arrives as Ticketmaster and Live Nation face sustained legal pressure over resale practices. The Federal Trade Commission and seven states sued the companies in September 2025 over alleged illegal resale tactics, and a federal jury in Manhattan found in April that the pair operated an illegal ticketing monopoly — a verdict the companies are now asking the court to throw out or retry.
