A day after Saxony-Anhalt counted 43.8 percent and 39 of 83 seats for the AfD, Ulrich Siegmund claimed a clear mandate to govern. [1] This paper printed a historic share that was not a cabinet. Tuesday the share has not grown. The mandate has not been written.

The Conversation asked why the AfD won and what happens next: CDU collapse, high turnout, no majority, mainstream parties still refusing talks. [1] A mandate requires partners or 42 seats. Thirty-nine is neither.

Print the claim. Print the missing majority. Do not appoint a minister-president. Tuesday is day two of a count, not a cabinet. A firewall that still holds is not a coalition. Leave a named Magdeburg deal to the edition that owns a named deal. Wednesday does not grant what 39 seats did not write. A later street belongs to a later edition.

Print no cabinet. Tuesday is not a Magdeburg ministry.
