The 16th Queer Palm went on Friday night to Jane Schoenbrun's Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, the horror comedy starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson that opened Un Certain Regard on May 14. The jury was co-presided by the actress Anna Mouglalis and the theatre director Thomas Jolly. Canal+ renewed as broadcaster partner. [1][2]

The paper recorded the 21-film field on Tuesday as the structural receipt: three features in 2010, twenty-one in 2026, on the same prize at the same festival. The choice inside that field belongs to Schoenbrun, whose previous features We're All Going to the World's Fair and I Saw the TV Glow had already moved her from Sundance breakout into A24's auteur stable. Camp Miasma is her third, her largest cast, and her first with an Emmy-winning sitcom lead opposite a former X-Files star. The pairing reads as the kind of casting choice that only happens when the budget and the festival slot already exist. [1]

The Queer Palm jury cited the film for "humour, tenderness and political acuity"; the day's other parallel-prize winner, the short-film Queer Palm, went to Camille Lugan's Le Chant Des Amazones. The Saturday ceremony at the Grand Théâtre Lumière still has the Palme d'Or to award.
