The paper's CDC measles count clears 1,800 with Utah leading on 408 cases carried the figures Sunday through April 30. The Tuesday register is the deceleration-against-clock pattern. Utah saw 44 cases over the most recent four weeks against a peak of 56 cases in a single week in March. The spread is slowing, but the PAHO November 2026 review of U.S. measles-elimination status — the rolling twelve-month threshold beyond which the United States loses formal "measles-eliminated" certification — keeps running on its own calendar regardless of weekly trend lines. The vaccine math has not moved: 92 percent of patients were unvaccinated or of unknown status; 4 percent received only one dose. Six percent of patients have been hospitalized — down from 11 percent in 2025 — and there have been no measles deaths recorded in the United States in 2026. The HHS Rapid Response account spent the weekend posting Mexico's caseload three times the U.S. figure next to RFK Jr. Secretary Kennedy's line that he "had nothing to do with the measles outbreak here." [4] The federal posture remains comparison, not control.

The November clock is six months out. The Utah curve flattens. The two are not yet the same story.
